AMAR SUNDY takes to the stage at the Nova Arcada Braga Festival on November 7th at the Altice Forum Braga Grand Auditorium.
Promoter:
Mobydick
AMAR SUNDY is the heir to a long line of Tuareg nomads from the Tamanrasset province in southern Algeria. Amar Sundy emigrated to France as a child in the early 1960s. As a teenager, he settled in Chicago, where he toured extensively with Albert King, Albert Collins and Screamin' Jay Hawkins before returning to France, where he launched his own recording career.
A Sahrawi from the Sahara Desert in North Africa, Amar Sundy has always been infected by the desire to travel. His musical journeys deal with salt, thirst, the dark night and the stars that trace his path, as well as human encounters and sharing around a gourd filled with fresh water at the end of the day.
Sadaka (Sahraoui for "to share") is Amar's fifth album. With the blues still running through his veins, he revisits his African roots in a rich rhythmic and vocal context, full of energy and feeling.
