Formed in 1978, in San Francisco, California, the Dead Kennedys are easily identified as one of the most important and iconic names in the history of Punk in the world.
From the band's name to their stance on stage and off, the Dead Kennedys have always been a source of controversy. In its first period of activity, between 1978 and 1986, the band released 4 albums that became remarkable and defined a style, filled with irreverent anthems, always putting their "finger on the wound" and generating controversy.
Musically unmistakable and with always corrosive lyrics, the Dead Kennedys' themes are generally of a social and political nature, satirizing various public and powerful figures, established institutions and authorities in general, in addition to popular culture and all the rotten things in society, with themes that, unfortunately, they remain so current 4 decades later. This set of factors generated a cult phenomenon around it, which remains very much alive to this day.
After several years off, the band returned to activity in the early 2000s with some changes in the lineup, but maintaining maximum intensity in their performances.
In 2025, the band announces a tour that will pass through Portugal for two concerts that are expected to be at least intense, with founding members East Bay Ray and Klaus Flouride at the helm and vocalist Ron "Skip" Greer (ex-Wynona Riders) who has been giving voice to the Dead Kennedys classics since 2008. Unmissable and historic.
