“Someone's got to keep 'rawk' alive, and the Diamond Dogs have done it consistently better than anyone over the last 20 years.” Captain Sensible (The Damned)
“Swedes Diamond Dogs are one of the coolest bands on earth” Wilko Johnson
“We played with the Faces a lot, and believe me, Rod and the boys had good nights and bad nights, but Diamond Dogs are really like the Faces on the bright nights” Dan McCafferty (Nazareth)
“A combination of Mott the Hoople, 1973 British glam, Roy Wood-era ELO, early Owie and the Faces. Diamond Dogs are that cool! A rugged, smoky vocal mixed with honky tonk piano and seductive guitars. The warm atmosphere brings the air of the golden years, and the energy of the songs and the performance ensure rock for a new generation” Benny Andersson (ABBA)
Thirty years are nothing.
Who was going to tell vocalist Sören “Sulo” Karlsson, keyboardist Henrik “The Duke of Honk” Widen and guitarist Anders “Boba Fett” Lindström when they founded Diamond Dogs in Katrineholm, Södermanland (Sweden) in 1992 that they would continue carrying rock n' roll around the world three decades later.
Sulo and Honk continue to lead the diamond dogs, with Boba, a member of the Hellacopters since 1997, dedicated to the band mandre, Sulo being the main composer and Honk the artistic leader. The band's precepts have barely changed since then; rock n' roll influenced by the British rhythm & blues of the 70s, the spirits of glam, boogie, tavern melodies and the dirt and sprawl of a pirate party in which the crew was made up of Bowie, Marc Bolan, Elton John, the Faces and the Stones.
Their energetic shows have led them to share the stage with everyone from Ian Hunter, Dogs D'Amour, The Cult, Hanoi Rocks, Iggy Pop, Dan Baird or The Quireboys throughout the globe, with Spain being a second home for them. where, like most bands from that Swedish rock and roll boom from which they emerged, they have always enjoyed a fervent legion of fans. However, far from the high-energy explosion that most of their compatriots championed, they always opted for the aged whiskey flavor of classic rock n' roll.
And here they continue, in their thirteenth, with a new album under their arm, 'About The Hardest Nut To Crack', and back in the studio with guitar legend Chris Spedding to record a tribute album to the immortal Little Richard.
And most importantly, those thirty years will have a special celebration, with 12 concerts in Spain in May 2024, in which they will perform from cover to cover their most celebrated album, and a classic of its time, 'Too Much Is Always Better... Than Not Enough' (2022), in addition to many other classics and surprises from his repertoire.
